Neodymium Countersunk Pot Magnet - 16mm x 5mm
Rated 4.9 out of 5
Based on 31 reviews
Product Code AMFYPA16
Pull Force* 5 kg
Weight 7 gm
Style Rare earth countersunk pot magnet
Coating Nickel (NiCuNi)
Direction of Magnetisation Axially magnetised thru the 5mm
*Measured against up to 10mm mild steel.

Magnetic Product Description:

This Rare Earth pot magnet has a diameter of 16mm, a countersunk hole diameter of 3.5mm and a thickness of 5mm. It has a pull force of 5kg and a weight of 7 grams. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number AMFYPA16.

Uses for our Rare Earth countersunk pot magnets:

This highly versatile Neodymium Pot Magnet can be used for many domestic and industrial holding purposes. This pot magnet has a Countersunk hole which enables permanent or temporary fixing to non-magnetic surfaces with a flat-head countersunk screw. It is commonly used to attract and close doors, metal gates and drawers and is also ideal for displaying signage, advertising material or artworks. It has a high strength magnet in a mild-steel nickel-coated casing that directs the pull force toward the base while also offering a protective cover against damage. This casing increases its holding power without increasing magnet size and can be a viable option to larger or stronger grade magnets that are less cost-effective and less durable.

Hi Austin,

We're thrilled to hear these 16mm x 5mm neodymium countersunk pot magnets are delivering strong magnetic performance. You've also provided some really valuable advice about their durability - it's great that you've highlighted the potential for chipping with more intensive applications like magnet fishing. These countersunk pot magnets are indeed incredibly strong, but as you've noted, neodymium can be susceptible to chipping under high impact or stress situations.

Your practical insight will definitely be helpful for other customers considering these magnets for different applications. It's wonderful to know you'd recommend them 100% for their intended uses!

Thank you for choosing AMF Magnetics and for sharing such helpful feedback! 👍

Very useful little magnet

Have tried using these magnets to prevent tool hooks popping out of a steel pegboard when the tools are lifted off. They work very well, but will try some smaller and cheaper disc magnets on the rest of the board.

Hi Ken,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for this fantastic 5 star review!

We're thrilled to hear these 16mm x 5mm countersunk pot magnets are working very well to prevent your tool hooks from popping out of the steel pegboard! What a clever application for keeping your workshop organisation system secure. The frustration of tools falling when you remove other items from pegboard hooks is something many workshop enthusiasts can relate to, and it's wonderful to know our magnets are providing an effective solution.

The countersunk design of these pot magnets makes them perfect for applications like yours where you need strong holding power in a compact form. We're also pleased to hear you're exploring different magnet options for the rest of your board, finding the right balance of performance and value for each application is always smart planning.

Thank you for choosing AMF Magnetics for your workshop organisation needs!

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
