Alnico Pot Magnets

The Alnico Pot Magnet presents itself as a poppy red painted cylinder with a vertically threaded hole in its centre; where its North Pole is located. We also stock Pot Magnets with non threaded holes. Alnico Magnets have a wide range of temperature stability and can tolerate any temperature fluctuations up to 425°C. These hard and brittle magnets have a great resistance to corrosion and their mechanical strength generally exceeds Neodymium or Ferrite magnets. Alnico Pot Magnets are suited to objects and tools fixing, clamping, mounting and gripping and to fixture applications. You can use them as work holding devices for wood or wire cutting or welding as well as you can incorporate them in press dies. Please note Alnico magnets can be easily re-magnetised if their demagnetisation is partial.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
