Flexible Magnets

Flexible Magnets are a popular and widely used range of magnetic products. The pliable nature of flexible magnets means they are versatile and user friendly. Unlike traditional hard magnets like Neodymium or Ferrite, flexible magnets allow you to shape, cut and bend them to your needs. Our range of flexible magnets includes magnetic strips, flexible magnetic sheets, magnetic labels and much more. Take a look through our range of flexible magnets online today.

Flexible magnets are constructed from Strontium or Barium Ferrite powder that is amalgamated with a rubber compound. The result is a flexible and pliable permanent magnet. Most commonly used for advertising products such as magnetic business cards and car logos there are endless uses for flexible magnets. There are so many fantastic products in the range including Magnafix magnetic tape, a simple and easy to use two part magnetic tape system. Or check out the super charged NeoFlex products which unlike the vast majority of flexible magnets consist of Neodymium magnet powder. This makes them far stronger than standard flexible magnets.

AMF Magnets prides itself on being one of New Zealand’s top magnet and magnetic product suppliers. We ship orders daily and do our best to get them to your door as quickly as possible. Whether you are working on a classic car in Invercargill, sipping a Sauv Blanc in Nelson or maybe throwing in a line at Taupo we’ve got you covered New Zealand wide.

Flexible Magnet Product Range

Self-Adhesive Magnetic Tape and Strips come in a range of thicknesses, lengths and widths to suit all manner of applications. If you are looking to join non-metallic items together using magnets then our Magnafix range is the best option for you. This two part magnet system uses two magnetic strips, part A and part B, which marry together to create a perfectly aligned magnetic bond. Each strip has a self-adhesive back and it can be adhered to pretty much any smooth surface such as a wall, door, glass or Perspex sheet.

Our range of magnetic strips and labelling products is extensive and includes pre-cut magnetic labels, magnetic tape and C or U channel tape. Pre-cut labels come in white or a range of colours and are delivered ready to use. The same range of vibrant colours is available in our magnetic tape rolls, allowing our customers to cut the tape to the lengths they require. Although there are limited width options in the coloured tape there are a wide variety of widths on offer in White. The PVC coating on these magnetic tapes means they are suitable for use with whiteboard markers.

C-channel and U-channel magnetic tapes are another great labelling option. This product provides users with the ability to print paper labels that can simply be slid into the C or U groove of the magnet strip. This is the perfect solution for customers that need clarity and precision in their labels such as those with complex product coding systems or barcodes. It also allows for easy and efficient adjustability.

Magnetic Sheeting comes in several different options and they each present a fantastic range of attributes. All of the magnetic sheets can be easily cut using scissors or a craft knife. The bright and eye-catching colours available in our coloured magnetic sheeting range are perfect for advertising, crafts and labelling. Likewise the white magnetic sheeting is often used for professional printing advertising such as car logos or shop displays. The wonderful thing about magnets is they can be changed or removed without any damage to the underlying ferrous metal surface.

Both coloured and white magnetic sheets are magnetic on one side and white/coloured on the other. However if you are looking for double-sided magnetic sheets we have you covered there too. And let's not forget our self-adhesive magnetic sheeting - so versatile, simply stick it onto the back of any object and adhere it magnetically to a metal rack, fridge or cabinet. Or create a magnetic wall anywhere you want and use any of our range of whiteboard or flexible magnets with it!

FAQs

What are flexible magnets made of?
The vast majority of flexible magnets are constructed from Strontium or Barium Ferrite powder that is amalgamated with a rubber compound. However for a stronger hold there are a few Neodymium based flexible magnet products available too.

How to cut flexible magnetic sheets and strips?
The great thing about flexible magnets is they can be easily cut with a craft knife, scissors or even the office guillotine.

Do flexible magnets stick to each other?
Short answer is yes.
BUT they don’t perfectly align unless they have been specifically designed to do so. Each flexible sheet is made in such a way that it has many alternating magnetic fields running along its surface. So if these poles aren’t made to match (as they are with a product like Magnafix) they push each other off centre. Depending on your application this may not be an issue however it is certainly worth considering before purchasing. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to our helpful customer service team.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
