20kg - 50kg

AMF Magnetics is proud to be a leading supplier of magnets in New Zealand. This category includes strong magnets with a pull force between 20 - 50kgs. The majority of these are Rare Earth magnets however there are also a number of Ferrite magnet products too. Holding Pot magnets account for almost half of the products in this category. These include both Ferrite and Neodymium magnetic holding pots. Block magnets and Disc magnets are also popular shapes in this range of powerful magnets.

20kg - 50kg

The powerful magnets in this category are industrial in strength. They are ideal for use in the garage, workshop or worksite. With a pull force between 20 and 50 kilograms they are strong enough to injure and should be handled with care.
Magnets of this strength are perfect for securing bulky or awkward items up and out of the way. Utilise metal beams or posts by attaching some strong magnet hooks or eyelets. You can have confidence in the sturdy and permanent hold magnets provide.

Neodymium magnets

Our high-quality Rare Earth Magnets are made from alloys of rare-earth elements. Neodymium magnets are able to produce significantly stronger magnetic fields than other forms of magnet such as Ferrite Magnets and Alnico Magnets. Neo magnets have become the most commonly used magnet both as small magnets and industrial magnets. They are powerful magnets which are able to outperform other magnets in the same dimension by up to 10 times their strength.

Neodymium magnets are highly resistant to demagnetisation. They are able to sustain their magnetic hold indefinitely. However it is important to note that Neodymium magnets are susceptible to corrosion brought on by moist or humid environments. They are also prone to losing magnetic power if they are exposed to temperatures above their maximum operating range.
For more information about the different heat tolerances of magnets, read the Knowledge base article.

Hard and brittle in nature, Neodymium magnets are prone to breaking when impacted. This is due to the sintering process that occurs during the manufacturing of the magnets. For this reason, there are less elongated or thin magnets available at this end of the range of Rare Earth magnets. Small magnetic discs can be made with a thin profile however it is important to keep the dimensions proportional.

Pot magnets become increasingly more practical as the magnetic strength increases. Although the pot provides a helpful and practical means of attachment. It also serves to protect the magnet from external forces. Strong magnets can be difficult to control when they magnetically attach causing damage to the magnet and risk to the user.
The steel cup of the pot magnet takes the impact of this connection. It likewise gives the user a way to maneuver and pry the magnet away from the ferrous surface.

We also manufacture custom magnets

FAQ

Best uses for magnets with 20kg-50kg pull force?

Magnets with a 20-50kg pull force are strong magnets, capable of achieving and sustaining a significant magnetic hold. Block magnets and disc magnets of this strength are often used in a myriad of different ways. Many handymen and builders use these Neodymium magnets. They provide a means of holding metal items in position securely without permanent fixtures. Magnetic cylinders are also a handy means of detecting steel beams or nails that are not able to be seen.

Pot magnets are incredibly versatile and are popular across the broad spectrum of our customers. They are used by cafe’s, shops and restaurants to secure displays and signage. Providing a strong and durable hold that can withstand wind forces. Furthermore these fantastic holding pot magnets do not damage the underlying structure and can be easily removed come closing time.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
