Samarium Cobalt Disc Magnets

Here at AMF Magnets New Zealand we have a wide range of Samarium Cobalt Disc magnets, perfect for use in small areas due to their superior strength and temperature stability. They are part of the same family as Neodymium (Rare Earth) magnets and therefore have a similar strong pull force. The factor that sets Samarium Cobalt apart from the other magnets we have in stock is that they have an excellent temperature stability and are able to maintain their magnetic integrity in cold and warm temperatures - something that Neodymium magnets struggle with. These Samarium Cobalt Discs are available in various different sizes and thicknesses, giving them the versatility to be used in most necessary applications. As Neodymium magnets aren’t suitable to intense temperatures, Samarium Cobalt magnets are now being used in high performance motors and precision control systems. They are also suitable to be used within accelerometers and gyroscopes (in aircraft, marine and spacecraft) as they won’t lose their magnetism in these conditions. Browse below for our selection of Samarium Cobalt Disc magnets with many different dimensions. If you require further information about our Samarium Cobalt Discs please contact our sales team.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
