FAQ

What are the strongest magnetic strips?

Neodymium magnetic strips are definitely the strongest form of flexible magnetic tape. However this can be an expensive option for larger projects where Ferrite magnetic tape is a more cost effective option. Check out our FAQs for more information.

Do magnetic strips stick to white boards?

Yes! This is one of the most popular uses of coloured magnetic tapes. Perfect for creating easy to see, adjustable displays on whiteboards. The PVC coating also means they can also be written on with a whiteboard marker. Take a look at our FAQ on dry-erase capabilities.

How do you use self adhesive magnetic strips?

Self-adhesive magnetic strips are easy to use. Simply cut to the desired length and peel away the protective layer before sticking it into place. Our Knowledge Base is a great place to find more information and detailed instructions.

Does the magnetic strip stick to itself?

Magnafix is the perfect product to buy if you are looking for a part A and part B product that can be used to magnetically adhere to each other. Not all magnetic tapes can be used in this fashion as the magnetic poles do not align correctly causing the tape to be off centre when magnetically adhered. Take a look at our FAQ page for more information.

How strong are magnetic strips?

The pull force for each product is listed on the relevant product page. However the factors that influence the strength of the magnetic tape are; the type of magnetic material and the thickness of the tape. For more discussion on what the term ‘pull force’ refers to please take a look at our FAQ page.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
