Horseshoe Magnets

Horseshoe Magnets made from Alnico are iconic: when we think of magnets, the traditional Magnetic Horseshoe is the first shape that comes in mind. It's no wonder when you think about all the science demonstrations and experiments that have been and are still conducted in schools with this particular magnet. Our line of Alnico Horseshoe Magnets can be used for traction, clamping, lifting but also sorting and retrieval applications thanks to their compact and high mechanical strength. We provide traditional Horseshoes painted in red and blue with North and South poles indications, ideal for school experiments and science departments to demonstrate how magnetic fields work. Magnetic Horseshoes made from Alnico have the ability to push and pull objects from a distance. You can use them in science projects to show the magnetic field arranging iron filings  and watch it configure and reconfigure itself in complex patterns under the magnetism of a Horseshoe Magnet. Horseshoe Magnets made from Alnico possess two magnetic poles close to one another. This peculiar shape gives them the ability to create a strong magnetic field between the two poles. They are reliable, durable over time, non-corrosive, highly resistant to extreme temperatures and are able to lift objects three times more than a Block Magnet of identical weight and size. The dimensions for our Horseshoe Magnets are Height (mm) x Width (mm) x Depth (mm).

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
