This samarium cobalt block magnet has a length of 25.4mm and a width of 15.88mm with a thickness of 6.35mm and is the imperial equivalent of 1 inch x 2/3ds x 1/4 of an inch. Identified by the Amf part number 88904.
Uses for our samarium cobalt block magnets:
Two of these block magnets can be arranged with opposite poles aligned adjacently to create a strong bond between surfaces with little or no impact to other surfaces in the process This invisible bond is permanent and removable without the need for tools or skills. The bond can be constructed and deconstructed instantly with the memory- like nature of magnetism allowing precise reattachment. In the case of Samarium Cobalt magnets, the bond is also unaffected by heat variations or demagnetising influences. Their resilience against corrosion or oxidisation makes them ideal for use in conjunction with plastics or timber.Some common applications include computer disc drives, sensors, satellite systems, radar, medical imaging equipment, tools and toys to name a few. Samarium cobalt magnets are also found in pickups on electric stringed instruments where they detect vibrations and amplify sound
