Magnetic Product Description:

This rectangular rubber coated magnet is 52mm x 32mm x 6mm with a Neodymium (NdFeB) magnetic core, and a Santoprene rubber coating that protects delicate surface areas. It has two D5mm boreholes, each with a D10mm counterbore. This Rare Earth magnet weighs 40 grams. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number RCNL52B.

Uses for our Rare Earth Rectangular Rubber Coated magnets:

These strong and versatile Neodymium magnets, encased in rubber are water resistant and more resistant to collision damage than uncoated magnets, The coating allows multiple attach and remove motions and the convenient recessed mounting holes allow it to be attached with bolts or screws. Two of these magnets on each side of a glass window attract to each other and make it easy to attach decorations etc without damaging the glass or window tint material. A common use of rubber-coated magnets is for attaching signs, mementoes or memorabilia to painted or easily damaged metallic surfaces. Other uses for these non-scratch magnets include suspending sun or privacy screens but particularly to attach objects to cars and trucks, marine craft, buses, motorhomes, caravans, portable offices, accommodation and ablution blocks that reside on construction sites. Shipping Containers and Demountable buildings are also environments where these rubber coated magnets are very practical.

Rectangular rubber coated magnets are ideal for use on rusty or painted metallic surfaces such as Corrugated Iron sheeting or Steel Fencing panels. The high-quality Santoprene rubber also prevents marks and scratches on delicate surfaces. These rubber coated magnets have strong Neodymium magnets inside the rubber casing so they are powerful yet gentle to attach. Rubber Coatings also give extra protection against moisture and other adverse weather conditions.

Good service and an excellent product

Works perfectly for the purpose of holding a small metal box to a frame. Can be removed and refitted as required. 4.5kgs holding power is just right.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
