This neodymium magnetic ring has an outer diameter of 13mm, an inner diameter of 2mm and a height of 5mm. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number R-OD13H5ID2-N35.

Uses for our Rare Earth ring magnets:

Neodymium Ring magnets have a central void as the name suggests. This particular ring has a small central hole with a 2mm diameter that has little impact on the overall magnetic strength this Ring magnet can exert. Axial magnetisation means the North and South poles are present on the opposing flat, circular faces of the ring magnet. Strong Neodymium Magnetic fields are able to some extent penetrate or travel through solid materials. Engineers and Scientific researchers have developed ways of using strong magnets to influence processes and initiate events in a remote, contactless way that avoids breaching protective barriers. This helps prevent the contamination of sterile mediums. Ring Magnets fitted to a rotating device can cause a metal stirrer inside a glass beaker to rotate. This method can be used to effectively mix solutions and fluids. In a similar way, magnetic couplings that bond with steel or other magnets through a non-permeable surface can transfer torque and generate movement without direct contact. This indirect contact method eliminates the need for consumable parts like bearings and seals that wear due to friction. Remote magnetic propulsion also eliminates the risk of contamination to sterile environments and greatly extends the service life of valuable equipment.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
