Magnetic Product Description:

The N50 Grade Neodymium content beneath the protective nickel-plated exterior gives this thin disc magnet an above average pull force for its size. Surface Gauss reads 1758G and generates a maximum pull force of 0.508kg. The disc is magnetised through the 1mm thickness with North and South poles located at the flat, circular surfaces. This is the lowest height dimension in the AMF product range.

Uses for our rare earth disc magnets:

Neodymium magnets have a nickel coating that improves their appearance and make them considerably more durable than brittle Ceramic magnetic products. This benefit combined with their far greater holding power comes unsurprisingly with a higher price point, however, many consumers find Neodymium products more robust and reliable and therefore excellent value for money. Small Neodymium disc shape magnets with high-grade Neodymium are widely sort after in technologies where space and size restrictions need to be met without compromising magnetic power or ability. Brushed DC motors of all sizes use permanent Neodymium magnets to generate mechanical movement with precision, high intensity and speed. They are utilized in the fields of Robotics, Aviation, Communication and various modern motor vehicle technologies.
Neodymium discs also make simple holding and attachment devices when paired with metal plates or washers or another magnet with the opposite pole. Thin, lightweight and powerful disc magnets are suited to a range of applications that can be both complex or relatively simple.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
