This Neodymium Disc Magnet (15mm x 3mm) is a compact yet powerful rare earth magnet designed for reliable holding strength in a slim, versatile profile. Manufactured from N35 grade neodymium, this magnet delivers impressive performance despite its small size, making it ideal for precision applications where space is limited but strength is essential.
Coated with a durable NiCuNi triple layer plating (Nickel–Copper–Nickel), it offers excellent corrosion resistance and a smooth, professional finish suited to both industrial and consumer-facing uses.
Key Specifications
Product Code: 20021C
Dimensions: 15mm (Diameter) x 3mm (Thickness)
Weight: 4 grams
Magnet Grade: N35
Surface Gauss: 2247 Gauss
Pull Force: 2.7 kg
Magnetisation Direction: Axially (magnetised through the thickness)
Coating: NiCuNi Nickel Plating
Shape: Round Disc Magnet
Why This Magnet?
Thanks to its balanced size and strength, this 15mm disc magnet is widely used across commercial, industrial and hobby applications. Its 2.7kg pull force provides a secure hold on flat ferrous surfaces, while the axial magnetisation ensures consistent, even magnetic performance.
Common Uses
Electronics, sensors and engineering assemblies.
Magnetic closures for cabinetry, boxes and leather goods.
DIY projects, crafts and home organisation.
Educational and prototyping tasks.
Light mounting, holding and positioning applications.
Performance & Durability
The high gauss rating of 2247 Gauss ensures strong surface strength, while the nickel plating protects the magnet from wear, oxidation and impact, making it suitable for long-term use in workshops, offices, classrooms, retail displays and more.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
