Magnetic Product Description:

This neodymium magnetic disc has a diameter of 12.7mm and a height of 3.17mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 3309 Gauss and a pull force of 3.61 kilos. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number D-D12.7H3.175-N52NI

Uses for our rare earth disc magnets:

Neodymium magnets are available in a wide range of shapes, sizes and grades. There are magnets from the petite, suitable for craft, through to heavy-duty magnets that can lift hundreds of kilograms. Popular for its super strong magnetic power, Neodymium is the most powerful type of permanent magnet. Since its discovery, it has allowed for endless technological developments across a broad array of industries. All of these industries have taken advantage of the superior power and reliable hold this material provides.

Small round magnets have an exceptionally diverse range of applications. Incorporated into almost all electronic devices to some extent. Be it a phone, alarm, DVD player or speaker, if you open it up you are sure to find a magnet somewhere in its depths. There are so many ways these magnets can be enjoyed, from fun craft projects to new scientific experiments. They are also popular with pretty much any type of maker, once someone has been introduced to the simple pleasure of magnetic attachment they rarely look back to more traditional means of attachment.
Able to provide a stable and strong magnetic field, these little disc magnets are always in high demand.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
