Magnetic Product Description:

This rare earth disc has a diameter of 6mm and a height of 3mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 4455 Gauss and a pull force of 800 grams. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number 20071A.

Uses for our rare earth disc magnets:

The marking of the Northern Polarity on this small  Rare Earth magnet enables quick and easy identification for users that want to create a fixing or closure system using two magnets. When the North marked surface is positioned opposite the South marked surface of another magnet they naturally attract. This is especially useful in repetitive manufacturing or production line situations where the Magnetic Poles are permanently arranged for either an attract or repel effect. Identification of the pole helps in large-scale production lines where accidental inversion of the poles would result in product malfunction.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

Works as hoped

I needed to be able to easily swap pieces for a 3D-printed toy. These magnets were small enough to hide in the recesses of the main body and the swapable parts, and yet still strong enough to hold the pieces together.

Great Value

Bought these to hang curtains in a van. They don't go well when working through a layer of thick fabric, but they were so cheap and delivery was great that i'll just order some stronger ones. Brilliant little magnets though!

AMF Magnetics reply: Hi Ryan, thank you for your feedback! The pull force of a magnet will diminish when there's a gap (ie. a layer of thick fabric) – but you're quite right, you could try the application again with stronger magnets.

Great value, excellent strength

Bought these to use in scroll saw boxes. Haven't used as yet but can't believe the exceptional pilling strength. The making will make it super easy to distinguish the N and S sides. Postage was very prompt, packaging was good and also included an informative instruction sheet regarding use and care. Price was excellent. Couldn't happier and will definitely purchase any future magnets from here.
