Neodymium Disc Magnet Description:

This Neodymium Rare Earth disc has a diameter of 6mm and a height of 2mm. It is one of our smaller magnets, despite this it still has a strong magnetic force. It has a magnetic flux reading of 3495 Gauss and a pull force of 540 grams. This permanent magnetic disc is identified by the AMF magnet part number 20074.

Uses for our Neodymium Rare Earth Disc Magnets:

This Rare Earth disc magnet may be small in size however it has a super strong pull force. This small and thin magnet is ideal for projects where minimal visual interruption is important. Often used to displaying artworks, paper-crafts, models and decorations on the fridge or other metal surfaces.

A small mark on one side of this Neodymium disc signifies the North Polarity. This makes the identification of the magnetic polarity a simple task. This is also a very handy magnet to keep in stock for identifying the magnetic aspect of other magnets. Simply hold the marked magnet close to any unmarked magnet to identify the presented magnetic face depending on whether it attracts or repels from its counterpart.

SUPER strong, sturdy and great quality magnets.

I used these magnets for my Major DNT project. At first before i purchased the magnets from AMF, i originally had magnets from Amazon which were super weak and could not hold anything. I was sceptical at the start however when the magnets from AMF arrived it was SUPER strong and durable. Do not waste your money on amazon magnets/products, AMF is the one and only way! For measurement sake, 2 magnets were able to hold over 150g both vertically and horizontally, thus displaying its immense pull force and prestine quality. It was also alot easier to arrange the magnets due to its northmarked ends and therefore this magnet is a 10/10 quality magnet, def reccomend again!

Marking is helpful

Having the magnets already with a north marked is really helpful and takes the hassle out need to do this manually when you need to align two magnets prior to fixing in position.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
