Magnetic Product Description:

This Neodymium Disc Magnet has a diameter of 50mm and a height of 12.5mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 2817 Gauss and a pull force of 40.8 kilos. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number 20001.

Uses for our rare earth disc magnets:

This large magnet is POWERFUL AND REQUIRES EXPERT HANDLING. It is NOT SUITABLE FOR DOMESTIC USE in most cases.

Every home and business security alarm system is unique because every home and business is unique. Electronics companies service homes and businesses looking to secure their dwellings from thieves and vandals, and sometimes merely a curious passer-by. These companies rigorously test all their potential products because in guaranteeing their products and services, they may be liable for any loss or damage caused by product failure. This self-powered neodymium-disc-50mm-x-12.5mm passes even the most thorough examination of reliability and durability and can be incorporated into detection and backup systems.

These electronics products are by no means restricted to security cameras and monitoring equipment and can even include panic rooms. Other applications include expensive entertainment and can range from home theatre environments, to nurse call devices and remote home electronic controls.

Magnetism is both an old and a new technology. Magnets were present in the earliest electronic devices and today they continue to find new roles in the most advanced, next-generation electronic systems. Magnets are in fact as modern as tomorrow!

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
