Magnetic Product Description:

This popular rare earth cylinder has a diameter of 2mm and a height of 10mm. It is an N50 grade rare earth magnet. It has a magnetic flux reading of 7207 Gauss and a pull force of 190g. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number C-D2H10-N50.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

Small cylindrical magnets like these are suited to applications including electric motors, industrial processing equipment and high-performance machinery. Sought after due to the narrow targeted magnetic field that extends out the flat surfaces of the cylinder; rare earth rods are ideal for applications where precision is paramount. Neodymium cylinder magnets are also commonly used in situations that require a magnet to be embedded into another material as they can be easily inset into pre drilled locations. Neodymium or rare earth magnetic material is the basis of the strongest magnets available today and it provides superior strength produced from a much more compact form when compared to more traditional magnet materials.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
