This rare earth cylinder magnet has a diameter of 6mm and a height of 6mm. Identified by the AMF magnet part number 21045. It has a pull force of 1.2 kilos against 3 mm mild steel. It has a flux reading of 5635 Gauss.
Because of their shape, cylinder magnets are ideal for inclusion into closure mechanisms, seals and joins for component parts of items like scale models and hobby equipment. These small Neodymium Cylinder magnets fit easily into drilled holes and can be secured with epoxy glue into the recess. Metal surfaces can be attached in this way, or in other situations, similarly recessed cylinders embedded in another surface and arranged with the opposite pole will create a magnetic bond that is strong but also removable. Bonds like this can be removed and reattached endlessly and without the need for tools or mains power. This simple, clean and efficient method of attachment is used by decorators, costume and theatre set designers, 3D model makers, artists, jewellery makers and hobbyists. Remote control toys such as cars, trains or planes with magnetically attached parts suffer much less damage during accidents and collisions. Components detach under excessive force but can instantly be reattached to their original position.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
