Magnetic Product Description:

This rare earth cylinder has a diameter of 4mm and a height of 20mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 6269 Gauss and a pull force of 0.630kg. Its part number is 21051.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

The small pole area associated with Neodymium Cylinder magnets means they are not usually chosen for weight bearing or holding applications. The cylinder shape makes their field narrow and concentrated and the height and shape make them easy to remove and reposition by hand around magnetic surfaces. Concentrated and penetrating magnetic fields in cylinder shaped magnets can be useful for metal detection and removal, such as coin-operated machinery, or in tramp metal pick-up tools. Industries involved with metallic materials and waste such as Toolmakers and Steelfixers use cylinder magnets to keep their work areas clean and to keep product quality at the highest standard possible. On office magnetic whiteboards or on the refrigerator at home, these thin cylinder magnets can have a similar function to a push pin.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
