Magnetic Product Description:

This rare earth cylinder magnet has a diameter of 10mm and a height of 12mm. It has a flux reading of 5815 Gauss and a pull force of 3.8 kilos against 3-5 mm mild steel. Identified by part number 21025.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

These small but powerful Neodymium Cylinder magnets are a favourite with those who display Artwork, Crafts, Memorabilia or Historical items in large curated galleries and museums, as well as small regional information centres, local Schools of Art and various other learning institutions. Hobbyists and Artists find this size cylinder magnet manageable and ideally suited to displaying designs and creations on vertical magnetised walls, whiteboards, or inside display cases.

In industrial processes, cylinder magnets have a deeper field than other magnet shapes and can detect the presence of metal pistons inside tanks, pipes or barrels, indicating the level of water or other liquids inside. This can be used by devices like valves to influence the flow to stop, or to reactivate the process. This contactless system of metal detection does not degrade over time and often has no moving parts, reducing failures and providing long periods of reliable, trouble-free service. Neodymium cylinder magnets have relatively small poles and a concentrated magnetic field that provides very accurate and reliable readings compared to magnets with wider pole surfaces, such as Blocks or Discs. This is an extremely popular magnet across a range of industries including automotive, manufacturing and architectural design.

A Great Attraction

For the whole of last term I was looking for a source of strong magnets at an affordable price to use in electricity experiments with a couple of students. I have now found that source and am looking forward firstly, to completing the experiments that I've already planned and secondly, being able to access other magnets as I need them readily.
