Strong Magnets
I cut sheet metal for my BBQ roof and other areas, I am the kind of guy who does not use PPE and I end up with metal filings in my face arms and legs, the strong magnets are excellent for removing them

This block magnet is 70mm square with a height of 12.7mm or the old imperial equivalent of half an inch. It is classified under the AMF magnet part number 22001B and has a pull force of 63.5kg against 5 mm mild steel. This magnet has a magnetic flux of 1954.
These large nickel coated, square neodymium blocks are often used for attracting and storing on its surface ferrous material or foreign metal objects from areas where they present a health hazard or a threat to the operation of sensitive and expensive machinery.
One example is bulk loose foodstuffs like grains, pulses and powders. These goods, which are unaffected by magnetic force, are conveyed past magnetic blocks like these and screened for metal contaminants. This simple, non-contact method rids and purifies these valuable food products of ferrous material like nails, screws, washers, flakes of rust and wire. Scraps of metal can turn up in the most unexpected and alarming places due to the durability of metal and steel material.
From paddock to plate, bulk foods are grown, harvested, transported and processed using steel machines, vehicles and vessels made of metal. This presents the need for screening that removes any metal fragments and so checks are undertaken at appropriate intervals in the production chain to ensure product integrity and avert liability. Metal fragments are sharp and hard and able to damage or interrupt specialised processing machinery therefore shutting down production lines and necessitating costly mechanical repairs and downtime.
These neodymium block magnets are the strongest permanent magnets commercially available and need to be treated with caution. Able to lift thousands of times their own weight, they can quickly attract to each other and strike each other with enough force to create flying splinters that can cause serious eye injury or painful tissue damage.
They are used in metal separation, construction, mining and commercial applications where a square shaped magnet is needed. The half-inch height dimension is also ideal where an imperial thickness is required.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
