Magnetic Product Description:

This  Neodymium block magnet has a length of 25mm, a width of 12.5mm and a height of 6.5mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 3644 Gauss and a pull force of 8 kilos against 5mm mild steel. It's identified by the AMF magnet part number 22018.

Uses for our strong rare earth block magnets:

We supply this handy size Neodymium Block Magnet to a variety of companies. It's used by the Sydney Opera house costume department for inclusion in quickly changeable garments and to reduce the time between acts and scenes. Other purchasers include High-Pressure hydraulic hose fitters and customers who use Neodymium magnets to reduce yeast deposits in Hotel beer lines. This helps limit impurities and to maintain the quality of their product, ensuring a clean, fresh tasting beverage in the period between line flushing schedules. Other users include canvas and vinyl product manufacturers for the camping and outdoor leisure industry.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

We use magnets sometimes to hold on certain parts of a costume, AMF were a great help and the magnets work really well.

Perfect for my requirements

I have an '80's campervan that has a rear tent which "hugs" the rear door. Over the years, the elasticized seam of the canvas has deteriorated and therefore it slips a bit. I was brainstorming for a simple solution with a friend on my last camping trip. He suggested magnets.

Best idea ever!!

An inexpensive, easy and effective solution !
