Based on 1 review
Product Code 10170
Pull Force* 0.05 kg
Weight 1 gm
Style Ferrite Disc magnet ISO
Direction of Magnetisation Axially magnetised thru the 3mm
Dimensions Thickness:3mm, Diameter:7mm
*Measured against up to 10mm mild steel.

Magnetic Product Description:

This  Isotropic Ferrite Disc magnet has a diameter of 7mm and a thickness of 3mm. This isotropic magnet has a magnetic flux reading of 1956 Gauss and a weaker pull force than the same size axially magnetised ferrite magnet. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number 10170.

Uses for our ferrite disc magnets:

These Isotropic Ferrite Disc magnets are not magnetised in a particular direction in the manufacturing process. This reduces their magnetic power but the low manufacturing cost also makes them a very economical choice for applications where a strong magnetic force is not required. Commercial printing services that create lightweight advertising material or promotional merchandise, as well as home-based craft makers, can benefit from this cost reduction.

chess piece magnets for electronic chess set

the purpose was to replace existing chess peice magnets with stronger holding magnets. The neodymium magnets tried at first were excellent but interferred with the electrical circuitry of the touch sensitive chess board. The above ferrite magnets were strong enough to hold the chess pieces to the board without interferring with the chess computers operation.
