What is the most suitable magnet for holding my oven door closed?

Neodymium or Rare Earth magnets start losing their magnetism after prolonged exposure to heat above 80 degrees and are therefore not appropriate for ovens.

Ferrite or Samarium Cobalt magnets are both well suited for keeping an oven door shut. As oven doors have different designs and sizes you are best to look at our full range to determine which size will fit best in the gap between door and frame. Any air gap between the magnet and the surface it is attracting to will diminish the strength. For an effective solution, it is recommended that you carefully measure the space to get a magnet closest in size to the space available. It may be necessary to use more than one magnet to achieve a satisfactory hold.
