What glue should I use?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions we encounter.

In most cases the application will dictate what adhesive you use, however the wrong choice of adhesive may result in the magnet being pulled from its operating surface.

This is especially true of Neodymium due to their greater strength. Using an adhesive like Super Glue which dries without some form of flexibility can add to this problem.

We recommend the three adhesive types below for use with magnets. 

Silicone Often used for larger magnets, Silicone is a simple and cost effective solution when fixing magnets in place.

Epoxy Resin This is the most commonly used adhesive as it dries relaitively quickly and retains flexibility.

Cyanoacrylate (CA) Similar to epoxy glues, CA requires an initiator to activate and can be applied to metal, plastics & glass. We have tested Bondmasters F246/Initator 5 CA which has superior shear strength and excellent resistance to both peel and fatigue.
