Uses for our samarium cobalt disc magnets:

These samarium cobalt discs are resistant to demagnetisation, able to operate at negative temperatures or extremely high temperatures and resistant to corrosive marine environments and a wide range of solvents, These Rare Earth magnets are strong and magnetically stable. The magnetic strength, heat stability and durable nature of Samarium Cobalt alloy makes it practical for use in instruments that measures volume or velocity of hot or cold gases and liquids. 

In liquid pumps and propulsion systems, magnetic interaction allows a sterile barrier to be maintained between two differing environments. Magnetic disc housings are placed on both sides of an impervious barrier, such as a plastic pipeline, then interact to create engagement and transfer mechanical or kinetic energy magnetically, to where a monitor, motor or measurement gauge is operating. A steel impeller inside a pipe, for instance, that is forced to rotate by flowing liquid or pressurised gas can magnetically cause a disc magnet outside the pipe to react in a proportionate manner that can be measured and recorded. Mechanical power transferred without physical contact removes the risk of mechanical failure and the need for driveline seals in the barrier that can fatigue, leak and require periodic replacement.
