Magnetic Product Description:

This popular rare earth cylinder has a diameter of 3mm and a height of 4mm. It is an N50 grade rare earth magnet. It has a magnetic flux reading of 6742 Gauss and a pull force of 326g.  It is identified by the AMF magnet part number C-D3H4-N50.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

This small Neodymium cylinder magnet is axially magnetised, which means the magnetic field is present through the top and bottom flat faces of the cylinder. Neodymium magnet is the strongest form of permanent magnet and has largely replaced traditional magnets such as Alnico, Samarium Cobalt and Ferrite. Rare earth magnets do have their limitations, in particular, they have a more limited operating temperature range and begin to lose strength at a lower temperature than traditional magnets. However, Neodymiums excel in terms of magnetic power and far exceed other forms of magnetic material when it comes to strength to size ratio. There is a range of different coatings available although Nickel plating is the standard and it provides reasonable resistance to corrosion in normal atmospheric conditions.

Good service, great product

Bought these magnets for a cheaper alternative to uncoupling magnets for my model railway, the magnetic pull is as strong as advertised, stronger than I expected but totally worth it as they're reliable. Bought 120 and they showed up on my doorstep nice and quick, highly recommended to my model railway mates and will be back
