Magnetic Product Description:

This Alnico Shallow Pot Magnet has a diameter of 38mm, and a height (or thickness) of 10.5mm. This magnet has an M6 straight through-hole, and a pull force of 13 kilograms. This product is identified by the AMF Magnets part number 47230.

Uses for our Alnico Shallow Pot Magnets:

Alnico is not the most powerful of Magnetic materials and the development of Rare Earth materials have reduced its popularity but its durability and stability in fluctuating environmental conditions make it highly suitable for use in a wide range of technical equipment such as meters, gauges, switches and sensors because of their tolerance to temperature variations, electrically conductive properties and resistance to corrosion, Alnico magnets are used in highly accurate instrumentation that detects, measures and controls temperature, pressure, flow volumes and electrical current.

Alnico shallow pot magnets are used for holding and securing metal components during manufacturing and assembly. The steel capped painted surface (Red) is non-magnetic and the cap deflects the magnetic field toward the base for increased holding strength from the relatively low profile disc. A countersunk hole in the magnetic base accommodates an appropriate self-tapping screw for attachment. Due to their low resistance to demagnetisation (low coercivity), Alnico magnets are supplied with a  '' keeper'' or a steel plate that maintains the magnetic flow between the two poles and prevents the magnet leaking power to nearby magnetic or electrical influences.

Alnico pot magnets are one of the oldest magnets in the magnet family (1940’s)but have largely been superseded by more powerful Rare Earth magnets since the 1980's. Maintaining a low profile where height is restricted, these Alnico shallow pot magnets are prominent in Construction companies, Machine shops, Electrical Engineering shops and the Communications and Electronic Security sector.
